Dear Parents and Families,
Reading for pleasure inside and outside of school has real and long-lasting benefits. It unlocks the power of information
and imagination and helps children discover who they are. Here’s what you can do to help children develop stronger
reading skills and a love for reading:
· Set the example. Let children see you read.
· Have a collection of books in your home. Update this collection routinely to keep pace with changing tastes
· and reading skills.
· Support our school’s Book Fair. Allow your children to choose their own books to read.
Our Scholastic Book Fair is a reading event that brings the books kids want to read right into our school. It’s a wonderful
selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. Please remember to include 8.625% NY Sales Tax.
Book Fair dates and hours are as follows:
Monday, Oct 19: 8:50 – 12:30
Tuesday, October 20, through Thursday, October 22: 8:50 – 2:20
Class Visit: Tuesday October 20 at 11:00!
Please join us for our Family Fun Monster Book Fair Event on Monday, Oct 19, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
We will have additional books and crafts during the family event that we don’t display during class visits. They make good
birthday and holiday gifts. Children have created beautiful artwork to decorate the Commons Room where Mr. Kelly will be
reading stories and we’ll have monstrously delicious cider and snacks. Children are welcome to dress up.
If you are unable to attend the Fair in person, we invite you to visit our online Book Fair at scholastic.com/fair. Our online
Fair is now open until October 27th. Books will be delivered to school at no charge.
We look forward to seeing you and your family at our Book Fair!
